Children learn volleyball techniques at the Mini Volleyball Festival in Palestine
Lausanne, Switzerland, May 16, 2014 – A Mini Volleyball Festival took place on May 15 at St. George’s College in Ramallah under the patronage of the Palestine Volleyball Federation.

A total of 130 boys and girls between the ages of 6 and 11 took part in the festival, which was opened by two religious teachers, a Muslim and a Christian.

The event was presided over by Richard Zananiri, the Principal of St. George’s College, and Basheer Mahameed, the General Secretary of the Palestine Volleyball Federation.

Coach Rani Asfour, who recently successfully completed an FIVB teachers’ course in Amman, Jordan, is one of the main forces behind the Mini Volleyball Festivals in Palestine.

The Mini Volleyball Festival, another in a series of successful grassroots events that is helping to spread volleyball in Palestine, was covered by Palestine TV, Radio Raya FM and the Al-Ayyaam and Al-Quds newspapers.
