Regional Volleyball Development Centre in Copenhagen launches international coaching clinics

The premises of the FIVB/CEV Regional Volleyball Development Centre in Copenhagen will host a couple of coaching courses open to an international audience

Copenhagen, Denmark, May 14, 2014 - The FIVB/CEV Regional Volleyball Development Centre in Copenhagen launches its activities by hosting a High Performance Summer Volleyball Camp, which will combine theoretical classes with on-court training.

“Our ambition is to set up a high-quality camp with interesting and challenging content for the players and coaches who will attend,” said Sven Brix, Director of the FIVB/CEV Regional Volleyball Development Centre in the Danish capital. Participants will also attend a European League match, starring the national teams of Denmark and Austria.

A second clinic will be hosted by the RVDC in Copenhagen with a focus on talent identification, recruitment and development. “We are looking forward to welcoming coaches from all over Europe for the first international seminar of this kind to take place in our country,” Brix added. “We have been looking forward to this day for quite some time. We have prepared a good programme, where lectures will be given by myself and by the head coach of our men’s national team, Mikael Trolle.”

The Danish Volleyball Federation is also planning to organise a Coaching Seminar in conjunction with the FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship, which will take place this summer in Poland. “Why not combine business and pleasure? The World Championship in Poland is a huge event and a unique opportunity to learn from the best players and coaches around. We have included some theoretical classes on the programme to hopefully deliver four days of great volleyball for all participants,” Brix concluded.
