President Graça visits FIFA

President Graça was warmly received at the FIFA headquarters by Mr Blatter
Lausanne, Switzerland, May 12, 2014 - FIVB President Dr. Ary S. Graça F° took advantage of his attendance at the FIVB Volleyball Women's Club World Championship Zurich 2014 on the weekend by making a courtesy visit to the headquarters of FIFA on Monday.

President Graça met with FIFA President Joseph S. Blatter and Secretary General Jérôme Valcke in Zurich to discuss the new initiatives and latest techology which the FIVB is undertaking in the world of volleyball especially with the FIVB Volleyball World Championships, which will take place in Poland and Italy from August through to October, in mind.

At the same time President Graça received an update on the latest FIFA developments from Mr Blatter with the FIFA World Cup one month away from starting in Brazil.

"The meeting was very fruitful and provided an excellent opportunity to compare notes and also to see where the FIVB can learn from FIFA's experience, especially in the area of new technology," Dr. Graça said. "I was also pleased to be able to discuss the FIVB's latest innovations for what will be our landmark event later this year, the FIVB Volleyball World Championships."

Over the weekend, President Graça was at the FIVB Volleyball Women's Club World Championship Zurich 2014 for the semifinals and finals where he presented the winner's trophy to Russia's Dinamo Kazan.

It is the first time the two Presidents have met.
