Cape Verde welcomes VCP Beach Volleyball Grassroots Course

A total of 23 men and 10 women, all coming from the host country, took part in the programme.
Sal, Cape Verde, April 24, 2014 - The Cape Verdean Volleyball Federation welcomed a VCP Beach Volleyball Grassroots Course to the island of Sal in Santa Maria from April 1 to 5 under the instructions of the Swiss-Brazilian expert Ms Claudia Laciga. A total of 23 men and 10 women, all coming from the host country, took part in the programme.

The course was aimed at players and trainers from the indoor clubs of the island of Sal. Its purpose was to raise the participants’ level of knowledge of beach volleyball.

The national federation is in the process of launching a project which aims to include the other islands of the country in a beach tour. Sal is the island where beach volleyball has the most potential. The local association promotes three to four beach volleyball events per season. The objective is to do the same on the other islands of Cape Verde by first creating a local circuit and then establishing a national championship with the best teams from each island competing against each other.

Cape Verde national television was present on the first day of the course and at the closing ceremony. Watch the video here.
