German pair Laboureur and Sude top seeds at Fuzhou Open Women's Qualification Tournament

Fuzhou, China, April 22, 2014 - Chantal Laboureur and Julia Sude of Germany were named top seeds for the women's Qualification Tournament at the FIVB Beach Volleyball Fuzhou Open following Tuesday's technical meeting.

The German pair, who won silver at the Durban Open last year, will have a bye in the first round of the Qualification Tournament alongside five other seeded teams.

The seeding is based on the individual players' points tally, with Vanuatu's Miller Elwin and Henriette Iatika seeded second, Kinga Kolosinska and Monika Brzostek of Poland third and Mexico's Martha Revuelta and Candelas Bibiana fourth.

Eight pairs progressing through the Qualification Tournament will join the 24 Main Draw teams. The Women's Main Draw technical meeting will take place on Wednesday evening (local time).

The Fuzhou Open, which runs from April 22 to 27, is the season-opening event of the 2014 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour.

The US$175,000 event has attracted a total of 121 teams attending from 35 countries (66 men's teams from 29 countries and 55 women's teams from 25 countries).
