Alison and Bruno continue impressive form

Bruno is aiming for more success in 2014
Salvador, Brazil, April 15, 2014 – Alison Cerutti and Bruno Schmidt continued their impressive early days as a partnership with less than a month till the start of the 2014 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour by winning gold at the Salvador leg of the Brazilian Tour at Armacao Beach.

The duo, who joined together at the start of 2014 beat veterans Ricardo Santos and Marcio Araujo in the final 2-0 (21-19, 21-15). It is their second victory on the Brazilian Tour after they had won the Maceio leg and they also claimed gold in the South American Games.

The pair will begin their quest to win the World Tour at the Fuzhou Open in China from April 22-27.

“We want to share this title with our team and our families,” Bruno said. “We knew that the Super Beach was a very important competition and we focused hard on performing well in this competition. Our loss in the group stages helped us focus and we fixed our mistakes so we could go on and win.”

Alison and Bruno’s former partners Pedro Salgado and Emanuel Rego won the bronze medal, as they had at the South American Games by defeating Bruno de Paula and Hevaldo Moreira 2-0 (21-11, 21-15).

"It was not what we expected because we came here to be champions, but haven’t ended that way,” Emanuel said. “Even so it is very exciting to end of the season this way.”
