Vanuatu stages Level I Coaches Course

Participants at the Coaches Course in Vanuatu
Lausanne, Switzerland, April 5, 2014 – The Vanuatu Amateur Volleyball Federation hosted a VCP Coaches Level I Course from March 19 to 26 in Port Vila, the capital of Vanuatu.

The course was directed by FIVB instructor Dr. Christian Kröger from Germany.

Out of 12 participants, seven qualified with the Level I coaching certificate.

A total of 10 men and two women took part in the Vanuatu programme.

Overall, Dr. Kröger was satisfied with the commitment and the work ethic of the local federation officials and was happy to announce that the overall objectives had been delivered in terms of the FIVB execution with the Volleyball Cooperation Program.

The Vanuatu example has been important for the FIVB development programme as it shows that with a committed leadership smaller nations have a chance to develop the sport.

The federation’s communications efforts were also well received as the course was covered by TV, radio and the written press.
