Volleyball gets presidential backing in Burundi


Bujumbura, Burundi, March 24, 2014 – Louis Rwakiranya, president of the Burundi Volleyball Federation met with the President of the Republic of Burundi, Pierre Nkurunziza on Monday.

It was an important meeting in which the two men had the opportunity to speak about the development of the sport of volleyball in the country.

The conversation centred around ways in which to build on the infrastructure of the sport creating more gymnasiums and outdoor courts for players to use.

The President of Burundi played a pivotal role in creating the volley ball academy in Burundi and has worked alongside the national federation in order to develop the sport nationally.
