Budvanska Rivijera Budva reigns supreme in Montenegro

Niksic, Montenegro, March 17, 2014 - Budvanska Rivijera  Budva once again imposed their rule on the domestic front as the players in their orange jerseys claimed yet another title this weekend at the National Cup sponsored by CKB.

Budvanska Rivijera easily defeated Buducnost Podgorica in straight sets in the final match (25-20, 25-17, 25-19) as the Final Four was held for the very first time in the city of Niksic.

In the semis played on Saturday, Budvanska Rivijera had edged the hosts of Volley Star in straight sets while Buducnost had routed Jedinstvo with a similar score line.

On the day of the final the Secretary General of the Volleyball Federation of Montenegro, Ivan Boskovic, awarded Vojin Cacic with the 2013 Montenegro Player of the Year award. However, since the latter is currently playing in France, the award was received on his behalf by Milan Markovic.

Budvanska Rivijera Budva caused quite a sensation earlier this year by making the Playoffs 12 of the 2014 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League, losing to Russia’s heavyweight Belogorie Belgorod.
