Qatar hosts successful Cool Volley event

Matches were organised to test the level of skill and game sense of the young players taking part in the Cool Volley event in Doha

Doha, Qatar, March 13, 2014 – The Qatar Volleyball Association (QVA) held a Cool Volley event at the Al Arabi Club in Doha on March 1 with the aim of encouraging young local children to take up the sport of volleyball.

The Cool Volley event was an opportunity for children to enjoy the sport, make new friends, learn new skills, acquire habits of self-discipline, learn team work, compete fairly and invest their free-time into healthy activities.

The event was well organised with matches held over a total of 10 courts that were temporarily set up on the Al Arabi Club’s football pitch.

Over 300 children aged between 8 and 11 years took part of the event, representing 10 different clubs from around the country. Also in attendance were the organisers, sponsors and coaches including the QVA President and QVA Board Members.

The event received a great deal of coverage in the local newspapers and was covered in Arabic and English on local TV channels.

Cool Volley is a proactive development tool aimed at assisting National Federations to recruit youth through their projects at a national level.
