Volleyball development in Niger going 'in the right direction'

The course, comprising theoretical and practical instruction, provided national volleyball referees with information on the latest updates to the Rules of Game

Niamey, Niger, March 4, 2014 - The Niger Volleyball Federation, with the support of the FIVB, organised a Referee Course from February 18 to 22, 2014.

The Referee Course, which is part of the Volleyball Cooperation Programme, is a strong component of the Federation’s strategy to educate up and coming referees and to keep them abreast of any changes to the rules and regulations in the sport.

There were 16 men and four women who took part in the programme coming from all parts of the host country. The participants felt they benefitted greatly from both the theoretical and practical components of the course and expressed their entire satisfaction with the experience.

The referee course is designed to educate and train new referees at the national level, while providing National Federations with a structure so that they may continue to develop their national referees.
