South American Tour heads to Uruguay

Uruguay is next up on the South American Tour
Rio de Janeiro, Brazil 13 February, 2014 – The South American Beach Volleyball Tour will make its third stop of the year, this time at Pocitos Beach near the Uruguayan capital of Montevideo from February 14-16. 

It follows on from the Tour opener at Macae beach in Brazil and Vina del Mar in Chile and 20 teams in both female and make competitions are expected to compete.

In the most recent tournament two Argentine pairings won gold; Ana Gallay and Georgina Klug topped the podium in the women’s competition, while Ian Mehamed and Julian Azaad beat Chilean cousins Marco and Esteban Grimalt 2-1 for the gold medal. 

The tournament begins with the group stages on Friday, ahead of the completion of the pools and the quarterfinals on Saturday. Then on the Sunday the semifinals and medal matches take place.
