Milan confirmed as host of 34th FIVB World Congress

From Anaheim (USA) in 2012 to Milan (Italy) for the 34th FIVB World Congress to be held from October 31 to November 1, 2014

Lausanne, Switzerland, February 13, 2014 – The International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) has confirmed that Milan, Italy will host the 2014 FIVB World Congress from October 31 to November 1.

The 34th FIVB World Congress will bring together members of the international volleyball family over the two day period and will be preceded by a one day workshop for all national federations on October 30.

The workshop will provide participants the opportunity to discuss issues with the FIVB and confederation officials while also providing a platform for the FIVB to update federations on key developments within the organisation.

The FIVB World Congress is the Federation's supreme governing body and is held every two years, with the last, an elective Congress, held in Anaheim (USA) in 2012. The 2012 FIVB World Congress elected Dr. Ary S. Graça F° of Brazil as the fourth President of the international sport federation, succeeding China’s Jizhong Wei as the head of the organisation.

This year’s Congress will be held after the FIVB Volleyball World Championships. The FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship Poland 2014 will take place from August
30 to September 21 and will be followed by the FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship Italy 2014 from September 23 to October 12.

Further details of the 2014 FIVB World Congress and an online registration process will be made available through FIVB.org at a later date.
