Accreditation open for confirmed beach volleyball events

Lausanne, Switzerland, February 10, 2014 - The International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) is pleased to announce that the accreditation process for all confirmed beach volleyball tournaments in 2014 is now open.

Media can now request accreditation for all confirmed World Tour events as well as age-group championships.

The FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour will once again be the centrepiece of the international beach volleyball calendar in 2014.

From Long Beach in California to Shanghai in China and many places in between players will compete for their share of the $10.2m in prize money on offer from 10 Grand Slams, an inaugural FIVB Grand Slam Final and 10 Open tournaments. The Grand Slams conclude with the first ever FIVB Grand Slam Final, which will offer $500,000 in prize money.

This year will also see the inaugural World Championships for the U17 age-group take place in Bahai de Banderas in Mexico from July 15 to 20 while Myslowice in Poland will again organise the FIVB Beach Volleyball U23 World Championships after the successful hosting of the inaugural event in 2013. The tournament in south-east Poland will take place from June 10 to 15.

It is a similar story for the Portuguese city Porto, who will repeat their hosting of the 2013 FIVB Beach Volleyball U19 World Championships from July 29 to August 3. The Cypriot resort Larnaca will host the FIVB Beach Volleyball U21 World Championships, with the event set to take place from July 22 to 27.

Journalists who have previously successfully registered through the FIVB's online accreditation system can log in to request accreditation for a tournament.

For journalists who have not previously registered inside the FIVB's online accreditation system, they will need to follow the necessary steps at the following link: http://www.fivb.org/en/media/accreditation.asp
