Palestine Federation organises successful Mini Volleyball Festival

150 students, 45 student coaches participated in a Mini Volleyball Festival in Ramallah, Palestine

Lausanne, Switzerland, January 27, 2014 – Palestine took another leap towards grassroots development, organising a Mini Volleyball Festival in the city of Ramallah.

The successfully-organised festival was supervised by coach Rani Asfour, who got support from the Universal Technical School in Ramallah. The event took place at the Palestine Technical College for Girls, where a total of 150 children and 45 student coaches participated, including families and clubs who served as audience during the activity.

Palestinian media Al Quds, AL-Ayyam, Al-Hayat, Voice of Palestine, Raya FM, Radio Nablus, Palestine and Ma’an were all present to cover the event.

The festival is an example of the social change created through and the impact of volleyball in the region. By using volleyball to encourage the peaceful interaction of children, Palestinian youth are learning to collaborate and respect rules - values they can use in their daily activities.
