Ocasio and Rodriguez named Puerto Rico players of the year

Katerina Ocasio capped a fine 2013 by being named Puerto Rico player of the year
SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico, December 31, 2013 – Katerina Ocasio and Roberto 'Rafu' Rodríguez have been name 2013 female and male athletes of the year by the Puerto Rico Volleyball Federation.

Ocasio returned to the Women’s National League with Caguas Criollas after taking maternity leave. She competed in all the national team competitions and ended the season as top scorer in the NORCECA Continental Championship where Puerto Rico claimed the bronze medal.

Currently, Ocasio plays in the Korean league with the IBK Altos Club.

Rodriguez had another good beach volleyball season in 2013, starting with a historic victory in March in the Cayman Islands when he combined with Erick Haddock to beat the USA team that included 2008 Olympic champion Todd Rogers.

Besides some other good performances in the NORCECA Circuit, Rodriguez also won the title, with three different partners, of the National DIRECTV Circuit.
