Coaches course paves way for future in Mauritius

In all there were 24 participants attending the course, including 23 individuals from Rodrigues and one from Mauritius.

Port Louis, Mauritius, December 16, 2013 – The Mauritius Volleyball Association recently organised a Volleyball Cooperation Programme Level 1 Coaches Course in Rodrigues.

The course took place from the December 8 to 15 and was led by French instructor Mr. André Glaive.

The participants showed lots of good will and progressed in leaps and bounds throughout the week. All certified coaches will now work with the volleyball development project in Rodrigues, under the leadership of the President of the Development Committee.

The course was well organised by the President of the League and its secretariat with assistance from the Sports Committee in Rodrigues.

The course was focused on ways to help young children adopt the sport of volleyball as well as methods to train players. The role of the coach and many other subjects concerning muscle strengthening and match preparation were also discussed at length during the course.
