Argentine athletes sweep awards at Boys' South American U17 Championship

Saquarema, Brazil, December 8, 2013 – Following Argentina’s gold medal win against Brazil, four athletes from Argentina's U17 boys’ team were recognised as the best players at the Boys’ South American Under-17 Championship on Saturday.

Argentine opposite player, Lucas Sferrayo, was awarded the Most Valuable Player.

Middle players, Sergio Soria and Liam Arreche were chosen as the best in their position.

Best setter, was Santiago Sauro (Nautico Sportivo Avellaneda - Rosario).

The team was completed by Brazil’s wing spikers, Kaio and Leonardo and the Chilean libero Soto.

Individual Awards:

Best middle players: Sergio Soria - Liam Arreche (ARG)
Best wing spikers: Kaio - Leonardo (BRA)
Best setter: Santiago Sauro (ARG)
Best libero: Soto (CHI)
Best opposite player: Lucas Sferrayo (ARG)
MVP - Lucas Sferrayo (ARG)
