One step forward for beach volleyball in Indonesia

A total of 18 men, all from the host country, took part in the course

Jakarta, Indonesia, November 26, 2013 - The Development Centre of Indonesia, in collaboration with the FIVB, recently organised a technical seminar entitled “Beach Get Involved”.

The five day seminar which took place from November 11 to 15 was led by FIVB Instructor Mr Mohammed Benhamida from Qatar. The participants were eager to learn and were highly motivated to attend each lesson.

The FIVB Technical Seminars programme is intended for technicians (with experience as volleyball players and/or coaches) looking to improve their knowledge and competences of the different volleyball techniques.

The course in Indonesia was part of a broader development plan to encourage more international tournaments and courses in a country that holds a great deal of potential for the sport with its numerous beaches. “With 33 provinces and more than 220 million inhabitants, Indonesia needs a strategic plan for the future of beach volleyball,” said instructor Mohammed Benhamida.
