Volleyball workshop boosts sport in Palestine

The course was held in cooperation with the Palestine Volleyball Federation

Ramallah, Palestine, November 25, 2013 – A volleyball workshop for girls took place on Saturday at the Technical College in Ramallah with the participation of 60 students from around the country.

Coach instructor Rani Asfour delivered lectures to the participants who were all students of Physical Education in the west bank of Palestine. The course received a great deal of local media attention with one newspaper headline reading, “
Volley ball influenza is spreading among schools and sports centers.”

The course was part of the Volley All Festival, an annual worldwide event where thousands of young people get together to play volleyball in their cities, public parks or other locations used by the local community.

Since its inception four years ago the event has served to promote volleyball and beach volleyball at the national level and has shown that it can be a truly universal sport with mass participation. The festival also aims to attract public interest through TV and Media coverage to support local authorities and potential sponsors.

More information on the Volley All Festival can be found here.
