Rio de Janeiro, November 7, 2013 – Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, Paraguay, Peru, Bolivia and Colombia are ready to participate in the South American Youth Girls' Championship on Friday.

From November 9 to 17, the Colombian city of Popayán will host the second edition of the South American Youth Girls' Championship, which will take place at the Sports Complex in Coliseum. The first edition of the competition was in 2011 in Uruguay.

The host team will be represented by Antioquia, Cundinamarca, Valle, Atlántico and Bogota.

"We have a good team and with some improvement, we will be looking to progress into a higher category," said
Coach Oscar Guevara. "We hope to  represent Colombia well in the second South American Youth Girls' Championship where the best teams from the continent will participate and compete."

At the beginning of the week, the Argentinian Youth Girls' National Team made its way to Colombia to participate in the South American Championship. Their final preparations for the tournament will take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The 12 players coached by Guillermo Caceres spent a week training in Brazil in anticipation for the
their most important season competition.

Juan Diego's Peruvian team placed second in the
International Tournament held in Lima. The tournament was in preparation for the South American Youth Girls' Championship where they will play in the same category as the Dominican Republic, Chile and Uruguay. With the best average height in Peruvian volleyball, in addition to a variety of attackers and one of the best sweepers, the girls have high expectations.

"Achieving first place is the main goal," said captain Lucia Magallanes.
