Arab Beach Volleyball Championship could prelude 2014 FIVB Open

Doha also hosted the FIVB Men's Club World Championships in 2012
DOHA, November 05, 2013 – With sights set on hosting an FIVB Beach Volleyball Open in 2014, the Qatar Volleyball Federation is preparing for the upcoming Arab Beach Volleyball Championship, Nov. 6-9 in Doha. 

On Monday, the organizing committee gathered for a press conference at Concorde Hotel, along with Mr. Mohammed  Ali Al Mohannadi, the Secretary General of Qatar Volleyball Association (QVA) and Championship Director,  Basheer Ahmed  Al Alwan, the Head of Referees Committee, Mohamed bin Humaidah, the Head of Technical Committee,  Mr. Abdulaziz Marafi, the Head of Media Committee, beside Arab and local media representatives. 

The Arab Beach Volleyball Championship will bring together seven Arab nations , including hosts Qatar, Lebanon, Oman, Bahrain, Palestine, Libya and Yemen. 

Championship Director Mohammed  Ali Al Mohannadi began the event by welcoming the attendees and confirming that the managerial and technical arrangements for the Arab event had been finished. 

The Qatar Volleyball Federation is tentatively scheduled to host an FIVB Open for men only from Nov. 25-30, 2014.
