Great success for refereeing course in Dakar

Dakar, Senegal, November 4, 2013 - A successful Candidate Refereeing Course wrapped up at Leopold Sedar Senghor stadium in the FIVB Development Centre in Dakar, Senegal last Thursday.

The course included 17 candidates from 11 nationalities, including three women, and was led by the president the refereeing commission, Hassan Mohamed, and member of the committee of rules of the game, Jacek Spisak. 

The FIVB refereeing courses are in place to keep referees' knowledge and competence of volleyball and beach volleyball rules in line with current trends in the sport.

International Referee Candidate courses and Continental events, as well as refresher courses are held throughout the year. The goal of FIVB is to encourage the development of refereeing skills all over the world.

The closing ceremony was attended by Khady Ndione Director of Training representing the Minister of Sport, Mamadou Diop representing the General Secretary of CNOSS (Senegalese National Olympic Committee), Alioune Kandji representing the Director of Leopold Sedar Senghor Stadium, Amadou Seye first vice president of the Senegalese l Federation of Volleyball and Mbaye Deme, Director of the Centre of Dakar.
