President Graça attends Asian Confederation Congress

 
President Graça held peripheral meetings with local business leaders to discuss potential collaboration to enhance volleyball in the Gulf region and around the world.
 

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, October 3, 2013 – The Asian Confederation Congress got underway today in Dubai with the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) President Dr Ary S. Graça F° attending as guest of honour.

In his address, Dr Graça spoke of the importance of the development and innovation in the sport of volleyball in the region. 

In July, the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) opened its new offices in Tokyo following a decision made by FIVB Board Members, in particular FIVB President Dr. Ary S. Graca F°, To build and add value to continental confederations and national federations initiatives by applying FIVB’s resources, to ensure that the sport receives positive global perception.”

Also present at the Congress in Dubai were H.H. Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan (Minister of Culture, Youth & Community Development and President of the General Authority of Youth & Sports Welfare) and H.H. Sheikh Tala Al-Fahad Al-Sabah (on behalf of Sheikh Ahmad Al Fahad AL-Sabah President of the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC).

President Graça will also visit the 17th Asian Senior Men’s Volleyball Championship, currently taking place in Dubai, which will qualify one AVC country for the Men’s Grand Champions Cup that will take place from November 19 to 24 in Japan.
