Vitoria, Brazil, September 22, 2013 – Liliane Maestrini and Rebecca Silva moved to the top of the Banco do Brasil Beach Volleyball Tour after they won gold at the latest leg in Vitoria on Sunday.

The Vitoria-born Lili and Rebecca only needed two sets to beat Juliana Felisberta and Maria Elisa in the final to win 2-0 (21-17, 22-20) in front of a vociferous set of supporters.

“It is fantastic to win the tournament in my home city,” Lili said. “It is one of the most important titles in my career and I will never forget the moment as it is one of the happiest of my life. The energy coming from the crowd was contagious and we played the match for them.”

For the 20-year-old Rebecca the title is another step to forcing her way into the Brazilians teams that compete on the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour.

“We had two very good weeks of training in Fortaleza,” Rebecca said. “We arrived here in a very-focused mood and took it match by match. It was great to help Lili become a champion in her home tournament.”

The bronze medals went to Agatha Bednarczuk and Barbara Seixas, who defeated World Tour leaders and winners of the first stage in Recife, Talita Antunes and Taiana Lima, 2-1 (21-14, 20-22, 16-14).
