"It will be my second gold medal in 2 months if we win the trophy, That's unbelievable to me specially. When I earned the gold medal in Mexico, I was immediately thinking of that day. Volleyball will earn me the best moment in my life if we achieve that".

"Before the championship started, we just focused on the group matches in Izmir; we wanted to make a good start. Right now, we are thinking of the trophy. We will do our best to win gold medal.”

This is not Poletaev's first time in Turkey, his parents had holiday before in Antalya, “Turkey is a beautiful country and I think it looks like Russia. Izmir is an amazing city. I love the view of the sea at nights” he says.

The young Russian player is continuing his education while he's giving his all to the volleyball. He is a student in Kazan University in Tourism major. He has great skills in jumping.
