North Africa Project into second phase in Tunisia
Tunisia, August 22, 2013 – Renowned Italian volleyball
coach, Ermanno Piacentini has travelled to Tunisia to work together with local
colleagues to help train and select the new generation of Tunisian athletes.
The FIVB has entrusted the Volleyball Federation of Italy to play an active role in the development of volleyball in Africa with special attention on the countries of North Africa (Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Morocco and Tunisia).
The project, led by the FIVB Development Department with the help of FIVB Board of Administration member from Italy, Renato Arena, started in April 2013 with internships and the participation of African youth selections in different tournaments.
The project will also see the FIVB and the Italian Volleyball Federation provide training and technical assistance at all levels: management, arbitration, organisational and competition over the next three years.
