Coaches courses held in Barcelona

The courses began on July 19 and will run until the end of the month.

Barcelona, Spain, July 25, 2013Two FIVB International Coaches Courses (Level I and Level III) are currently being conducted in Barcelona.

In all there are 30 coaches and players in the Level I course that is being directed by Gilberto Herrera (former coach of the men’s national volleyball team of Cuba) and instructor Aurelio Urena (former coach of the Spanish national team).

The Level III course has attracted nearly 20 attendees, with participants coming from Puerto Rico, Italy, Venezuela, Uruguay, Peru, Mexico, Belgium, Argentina and Spain. The course is being directed by Czech Miroslav Ejem and instructors Gustavo Meczyk (Israel) and Luis Muchaga (Spain). This is the first time that a Level III coaches course is being held in Spain.

The opening ceremony was attended by the President of the Royal Spanish Volleyball Federation, Agustin Martin Santos who highlighted the importance of these courses in improving the general level of volleyball in the country and the need for more of its kind in southern Europe.
