Tunisia and Algeria advance to the zonal phase of qualification for 2014 World Champs

the Algeria women's team suffered two setbacks against Tunisia without their experienced players to lean on

Tunis, Tunisia, July 21, 2013 - Tunisia have taken the gold medal at the women’s Pool A African qualification tournament for the 2014 World Championship, have beaten Algeria twice at matches held in Sidi Bou Said, Tunisia.

However, both Tunisia and Algeria will proceed to the zonal phase of the qualifier after Morocco withdrew from the competition and non-participation of Libya who belonged to the same pool.

Two times All Africa gold medallists, Algeria played without their experienced players like setter Fatime Okazi and spiker Zohra Ben Salim, with new coach Imed Eddine Saidan drawing on players from the youth team.
