Thailand holds Asian beach volleyball refereeing course

Ratchaburi, Thailand, July 21, 2013 – The AVC Beach Volleyball Refereeing Course took place in Thailand’s Ratchaburi province from July 18 to 20, with, Samanan Laowanichwisit (Mayor of Muang Ratchaburi) presiding over the opening ceremony.

Mr Thomas Chang, the FIVB International Beach Volleyball Referee from Hong Kong, and Kritsada Panaseri, chief of referee from Thailand, jointly conducted the three-day seminar. There were a total of 17 referees from 10 countries and regions comprising Laos, the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, Kazakhstan, Japan and Thailand who participated in the event.

The course, highly supported by the Asian Volleyball Confederation in conjunction with the Thailand Volleyball Association and Ratchaburi Province, was intended to build on the skills of Asian beach volleyball referees, while developing the sport on the continent.
