Level 1 Coaches Course underway in Saint Lucia

The two week course will conclude on July 30, 2013 and participants will be evaluated prior to obtaining an FIVB International Level I Coaches Course Certificate.

Castries, Saint Lucia, July 22, 2013 – A level 1 Coaches Course is currently underway in Saint Lucia, with 23 participants in attendance

The opening ceremony was attended by Mr. Brian Louisy (President, Saint Lucia Volleyball National Federation), Mrs. Fortuna Belrose (Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Youth Development & Sport in Saint Lucia) as well as Mr. Dan Girleanu (FIVB Instructor and course director) and Yohanna Mota Moreno (Development Center Supervisor and course coordinator).

Of the 23 participants, seven candidates had the opportunity to participate with the support of a scholarship from the NORCECA Development Programme. In addition to the national participants, the coaches also came from Trinidad & Tobago, Sint Maarten, Monserrat, Jamaica, Belize, USA Virgin Island, St. Eustatius, and the other part of the candidate are national participants from Saint Lucia National Federation.

The Level I Coaches Course is offered through the FIVB’s Volleyball Cooperation Programme (VCP) and is aimed at improving coaching skills and participants’ knowledge of the game.
