Ghana finishes top at 2014 World Championship qualifier

 
Burkina Faso team lost their first match against Ghana at home in Ouagadougou
 

Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, July 18, 2013 - The Ghana women's volleyball team secured top spot at the African Women's Pool D qualification tournament for the FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship 2014 following their second victory over Ivory Coast at Palais des Sports in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso on Thursday.

Ghana dominated the match to fly past Ivory Coast 3-1 (26-24, 22-25, 25-20, 25-21) in 97 minutes to improve their win-loss ratio to 2-0 having defeated Burkina Faso in the opening match 3-0 (25-15, 25-13, 25-17).

Ivory Coast will play Burkina Faso on Friday to see which team finishes second.
