Sun and fun at beach volley festival in Russia

More than 500 teams participated in the event in the three day event, which took place from July 5 to 7.

St. Petersburg, Russia, July 9, 2013 – Russia recently held a beach volley festival on the shores of the Gulf of Finland, with participants ranging from 10 to 92 years of age.

With 28 courts in use, the participants comprised juniors and seniors, amateurs and professionals, athletes with reduced possibilities, mass media and VIPs.

Participants took part in different games and fan competitions, with over 200 prizes and gifts offered by the organisers. Professionals competed for prize money of RUB 200,000.   

This year’s participants came from different regions of Russia as well as Finland and the professional international players taking part in the festival included Andrey Belov (Russia) and Adam Roberts (USA).

Beach tennis and foot volley tournaments were also organised during the tournament.

Another festival is scheduled to place in Velikiy Novgorod, Russia on July 13 and 14.
