Cameroon, DR Congo, Senegal & Cape Verde secure second round tickets at African World Champs qualifier
Ndjamena, Chad, July 7, 2013- Cameroon and the DR Congo have both secured second round tickets at the Pool F African qualifier for the 2014 Men's World Championship held in Ndjamena, Chad on Friday.
Cameroon defeated host Chad in straight sets after
they also took over Gabon in the opening day to improve the win-loss ratio to
2-0. DR Congo also flew past Gabon 3-1 after overcoming Chad in the
opening of the match to improve to 2-0 and join Cameroon in the zonal phase of
the qualifiers next October. Cameroon meet Congo in the third and final day for
the gold medal, while Gabon face Chad for the bronze medal.
Cape Verde will meet Senegal in the third and final day of the round robin tournament for the gold medal after both teams already secured second round tickets. Only the top two teams in pool B will proceed to the zonal phase to held in October and November, 2013.
