Mexico move to Mexicali with hope to win second match
MEXICALI, Mexico, July 5, 2013 - After losing in the Round of 16 against Argentina, Mexico will try to achieve a second victory at FIVB Boys’ U19 World Championship.
But this time, the team coached by Oscar Licea will experience a chance of venue. Their new home for the rest of the tournament will be the Mexicali State Auditorium.
The host team will match Egypt at 13:00 hours, local time and will try to define their final position by staying among places 9 to 16.
Egypt that played in Pool D and have stayed in Mexicali since the beginning of the tournament also want to finish in the best place possible according to coach Ellakany Mohamed. This will be the first time Mohamed and Oscar Licea face each other in an official competition.
Mexicans were part of Pool A, playing their first matches at the Baja California High Performance center in Tijuana. Maybe their luck can change after Licea showed some confidence.
Many players of Mexico have made their debut in a world stage competition and they hope things improve and get better against the African champions that gave a big surprise after defeating the United States on their final match of the Pools Round.
Mexico will play in Mexicali with a squad conformed by captain Mauricio Lopez Reyes, Ariel Acosta, Christian Aranda, Gabriel Martínez, Enrique Ugalde, Alexis Garay, Iván Milano, Sebastian Castro, Fernando Forte, Miguel Chávez Luis Bojórquez and Geiser Mejía.
Coach Licea is assisted by Eduardo Murguía and Sergio Hernandez.
