Program helps develop volleyball in Chad

Participants prepare for the World Championships qualifiers 2014

Chad, Africa, June 27, 2013 – A program for the development of the  structure of Volleyball in Chad has begun, with the main emphasis in developing and preparing the national men team to compete in their first home organisation of the World Championships qualifiers 2014/ CAVB confederation from 3rd - 9th of July 2013.

The program – which began June 10 and ends June 30 –also develops and trains local and national team coaches and referees, and improves general management issues.

The immediate short term goal of the program is to increase Chad’s ability to qualify for the second and last round of the World Cup qualifiers.

Long term, the federation aims to develop the Under 18 group of men players and eventually start a women team.

The program is a joint collaboration between the FIVB and Olympic Solidarity.
