FIVB Heroes Sweepstakes winner meets FIVB President

Lausanne, Switzerland, June 5, 2013 – The 2012 FIVB Heroes Sweepstakes attracted a
number of high quality entries from around the world. Liza Koloskova from Russia
emerged the winner, with her touching essay which told her story of the FIVB
Heroes who have impacted her life. At a recent tune-up match for the World
League between Brazil and Russia, Koloskova had the opportunity to meet another
important figure in the volleyball world, FIVB President Dr. Ary S. Graça F°.
Following the match, the budding volleyball and
beach volleyball player, had the opportunity to join Dr. Graça on the court,
where she was personally congratulated by the President on her achievement.
The “Share you
story! Share your moments!” sweepstakes was conducted through the FIVB
Heroes programme at the end of 2012 and participants were required to provide
their story, video or pictures on the following:
- What is your best beach/volleyball memory of the year?
- Which FIVB Hero did impress you the most and why?
- Did you even personally meet your favourite FIVB Hero?
Citing FIVB Hero
from Germany, Laura Ludwig as her favourite player, Liza Koloskova wrote,
“She is the one who inspires me to work hard towards a successful future. Due
to her and all the FIVB Heroes I hope to maybe win an Olympic gold medal myself
someday.”
