Cochabamba returns to the South American Beach circuit after ten years

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, May 29, 2013 – On Wednesday, the Bolivian city of Cochabamba will host a stop on the South American beach circuit after more than a decade. 

Men’s and women’s teams from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Paraguay, Uruguay, Venezuela and host country Bolivia, will take to the sands of the Olympic Club to compete for a place on the podium.
The seventh stage of the South American Beach Tour stop will take place at a club, which is helping to promote the sport of volleyball with more than 700 children and led by 15 teachers.
The last beach volleyball event took place in the La Paz, Bolivia in 2002, at the Coliseum Julio Borelli Viterito.

The Coliseum received   more than 120 dump trucks full of sand, which were subsequently moved to ‘The Cholas’ park of La Paz.  Participants included some of the host country’s beach volleyball greats including,  siblings Pavisic and Bernardo Martinez from Bolivia, sisters Fabi and Jesy, "Kookie" Villarroel,  and  brothers Edson and Jason Perez, among others.
