Historic Technical Seminar concludes in Tehran
It was the first time the FIVB has staged a Technical Seminar in Tehran.
FIVB Instructor Jivko Jetchev from Bulgaria commented; “It was a special seminar as we had not such a course previously. In five days we had four practical and nine theoretical sessions. I was happy with the large number of participants. We reviewed many aspects of volleyball. The knowledge of the participants was very high since they are experts in their field. Having 14 ladies in the course, shows that the game is spread amongst both genders and volleyball is a common activity for women in Iran."
Dr Nader Shavandi, director of the training & research committee of the Iran Volleyball Federation confirmed “since the participants had a high familiarity with job, the level of the seminar was very high. We had selected 35 persons by considering two major criteria: holding an international coaching certificate and being active with a team at national, super league or first division level.”
Mahmoud Afshardoost, secretary general of the federation said in the closing ceremony “Organizing different training courses and seminars is part of the federation’s strategy to develop our beloved sport around the country. This seminar has brought together various coaches, which have advanced their work qualification and help develop volleyball in the country.”
