AVC Women’s Beach Volleyball Tour continues in Vietnam

 
The hosts were well supported in their match against Thailand
 
Halong, Vietnam, April 25, 2013 - The AVC Women’s Beach Volleyball Tour 2013 Vietnam Tuan Chau – Halong Open kicked off In Tuan Chau on Resort of Halong on Thursday with 12 teams from Australia, China, Japan, Hong Kong, Thailand and host Vietnam participating.

The participating teams are divided into four pools, competing from April 25-28. China, Australia and Thailand played well with no losses in the first day of action.

Jin Jieqiong and Miao Chenchen of China one clinched two wins. They outclassed Urata Keiko and Suzuki Chiyo of Japan 1 21-16, 21-13 before beating Tilley and Shaunna Polley from New Zealand 2-0 (21-9, 21-13).

China 2's Huang Chunmei and Li Ying also performed well by defeating Japan 2's Tanaka Shinako and Ishida Angela 21-17, 21-17. But the Japanese pair later took some comfort as they beat Vietnam 1’s Phan Thi Cam Hong and Huynh Do Hong Loan in straight sets 21-18, 21-15.

Two pairings from Australia followed Chinese steps and also clinched good results. Artacho Mariafe and Ngauamo Jessyka of Australia 1 blanked Vietnam 2’s Tran Cam Thi and Mai Thi Koa 21-12, 21-14. and Mowen Jordan ans Mowen Justine of Australia’s 2 downed Hong Kong’s Chan Chau Wing and Wong Wai Fong 21-12, 21-6. The pair from Hong Kong later were defeated by Thailand 1’s Tenpaksee Usa and Sannok Jarunee 21-16, 21-13.

Khantarak Kija and Laosaengsa Ariya from Thailand 2 beat Vietnam’s Tran Cam Thi and Mai Thi Koa 21-19, 21-16.
