China, Brazil, Italy, Turkey and USA have retained their top spots in the world rankings

Lausanne, Switzerland, April 10, 2013 – The International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) World Rankings for Junior and Youth Girls has been updated following the completion of the last two U18 girls continental championships on Sunday.

The European Confederation (CEV) held their Girls' U18 Championship from March 29 to April 7 following CAVB, who organised their U18 Girls' Championship from March 25 to March 27.

The top five teams on the Junior and Youth Girls ranking remain the same as last year, with China in top spot followed by Brazil, Italy, Turkey and USA.

Poland replaced Serbia in the number six spot, while ranks eight through eleven also went unchanged as the Dominican Republic, Japan, Peru and Germany held on to their spots, respectively.

The biggest mover in the top 40 was Nigeria, who gained 45 places to come in at No. 27, while Tunisia experienced the greatest drop, moving down eight places to No. 24.
