Fuzhou national federation list now online

 
Uruguay fans have plenty to cheer about since their country is registered to participate in the men's qualification tournament at the Fuzhou Open
 

Lausanne, Switzerland, April 10, 2013 – A total of 121 teams from 35 countries have registered for the first event of the 2013 beach volleyball season – the Fuzhou Open in China – ensuring that the world’s premier international beach volleyball property starts the year in exciting fashion.

The Fuzhou Open, set to take place from April 23 to 28, is the first of eight Open events during a bumper ninth-month season, which also includes the FIVB World Tour – 10 Grand Slams and the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships in Stare Jablonki, Poland. The Shanghai Grand Slam is the next tournament on the calendar running from April 30 to May 5.
 
The distribution of vacancies in the Main Draw, Qualification and Reserve lists are based on federation ranking points which take into consideration the best six-out- of-the-last-eight results dating back 365 days on a player by player basis for the respective country.
 
The men’s competition has seen 67 teams from 28 countries register including the likes of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Uruguay with Brazil, USA, the Netherlands and China* boasting three teams in the Main Draw. Kazakhstan is also in the Main Draw with Uruguay claiming a Qualification spot while Belarus’ two teams are in the Reserve List.

The women’s tournament features 54 teams from 23 countries with the likes of Colombia, Kazakhstan and Vanuatu all included in the Qualification list. The likes of Brazil, China* and USA feature thee teams in the Main Draw.

National federations, which are responsible for entering and selecting the teams which will represent them in the tournament, now have until the end of Thursday to confirm or re-order the placement of their teams within the listed positions across the Main Draw, Qualification and Reserves lists.

The opening tournament of last season – the Brasilia Open – featured 148 teams from 35 countries.
