Brazil win two matches against Mexico during training for World Championship

Mexico's U19 boys national team concluded their first of two weeks of training at the Saquarema Center near Rio de Janeiro

Saquarema, Brazil, March 31, 2013 – The boy's U19 national team of Brazil defeated Mexico in two matches during the weekend at the Saquerama Center of the Brazilian Volleyball Confederation.

In a fiercely contested first match, Brazil prevailed 18-25, 25-17, 28-26, 28-26 and then won the second 25-21, 25-23, 25-21.

The Mexicans concluded their first week of training as part of their preparations for the FIVB U19 Boys' World Championship to be held in Tijuana and Mexicali, Mexico, from June 27 to July 7.

Oscar Licea, the coach of Mexico, was particularly satisfied, saying the matches were great experience for his boys.

“We won a set against Brazil and we have been working very hard,” Licea said. “The youngsters are playing well and learning a lot.”
