Egypt claim fifth straight title at the Women's Junior African Championships

Abuja, Nigeria, March 15, 2013 – Egypt claimed their fifth consecutive Women's Junior African Championship on Friday with a straight-set (25- 21, 25-22, 25-11) victory over Algeria on the third and final day of the competition.
Egypt also took the title in 2004, 2006, 2008 and 2010.
The final saw the more experienced Egyptians dominate attack, which they combined with a sturdy defence.
Egypt finished unbeaten have won two matches over hosts Nigeria and then Algeria.
Algeria came second (1-1) and Nigeria third (0-2). However all three teams secured spots to the FIVB Women’s U20 World Championship to be held in the Czech Republic in June.
