Algeria beat hosts on day one of the African Women’s Junior Champs

 
Algeria celebrate beating Nigeria at the Women's Junior African Nations Championship
 

Abuja, Nigeria, Match 14, 2013 - The Algeria women's junior team gained some early momentum as they defeated host nation Nigeria 3-1 on the opening day of the 2013 Women's Junior (U20) African Nations Championship.

Algeria were the better side throughout and they used their greater experience to dominate the match and finish with a 25-23, 25-27, 25-16, 25-21 victory.

Defending champions Egypt are set to get the defence of their title underway when they meet Nigeria on day two of competition.
