Maldives hold “Cool-Volley” School Festival

Children enjoying the “Cool-Volley” School Festival
Male, Maldives, March 3, 2013 – The Volleyball Association of Maldives (VAM) held a successful two day "Cool-Volley" Festival at the Male’ sports complex with more than 250 children from the city’s four major primary schools.

Mr Mahid Shareef, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Human Resources for Youth and Sport, presented certificates to all the participants at the end of the festival.

VAM Executive Committee member, Mr Ali Latheef, distributed the certificates and the "Cool-Volley" playing equipment to the team leaders and to the schools.

"This is the start of this year’s kids’ volleyball activities. After this festival, kids will be given a chance to join our regular long term training programmes,” said, Mohamed Sharaf, head of the technical department.

The event was also attended by parents, school sport supervisors and senior officials of the VAM.

The VAM plans to continue the cool volleyball training camps throughout the year.
