Rio de Janeiro, Brazil,
February 19, 2013 – The Brazilian Volleyball Federation recently conducted a certification
course for technical delegates, who will attend the Youth and Junior Brazilian
National Championships that will take place from March to August this year. The
course took place at the Aryzao, Brazilian Volleyball Development Center, in
Saquarema, Rio de Janeiro.
After 20 hours of online
classes, participants attend a course, led by Carlos Rios, Virgilio Pires, Carlos
Luiz Barroso and José Eduardo Amancio, members of the Brazilian National
Championships Executive Committee.
During the course, students
discussed theoretical concepts as well as case studies that allowed them to
review methodologies, the role assignments, sport ethics, sport law and security
at events.
“These students also
participated in the Superliga´s Technical Delegates Formation Course, so they
had a good basic knowledge,” said Carlos Rios. “This week we tried to adapt the
course to the needs of the Brazilian National Championships”, he stated.
In Virgilio Pires’ view, the
course was vital to the tournament´s management. “We strongly reinforced that is essential to have good judgment when
solving problems. As we have students for 11 different states, it is very
important that we set a national standard level for all the tournaments,” he
said.
The President of the
Brazilian National Championships Executive Committee, Carlos Luiz Barroso says
that the course helps in information dissemination. “This course is very
important to prepare the delegates for the tournament´s peculiarities. We hope
everyone can take this experience to their respective states and apply their knowledge
to the regional tournaments,” said Barroso.
