New volleyball world rankings published

Following a decision by the FIVB Sports Events Council, all events will be counted fully in the rankings – the most recent events will no longer be weighted more heavily
Lausanne, Switzerland, January 24, 2013 – The updated volleyball world rankings for January 2013 have been published on Wednesday. These rankings see no change among the top 12 teams in either the men’s or women’s divisions.

Following a decision of the Sports Events Council, and approval by the Executive Committee, all tournaments now count fully towards the world rankings, regardless of when they took place (previously, the ranking value of each event degraded over time to put more weight on the latest events).

The men’s rankings can be viewed

The women’s rankings can be viewed

The Junior and Youth world rankings will be made available once the current round of continental qualification events have finished.
