Mini Volley Festival opens in Botswana

The excitement of taking part in Botswana's Mini Volleyball Festival is evident
Maun, Botswana, November 28, 2012 - The Botswana Volleyball Federation (BVF) in conjunction with the Botswana Primary School Sport Association will host the annual Mini Volleyball Festival, for children under the age of 14. The festival will take place on November 28 and 29 in Maun.
The event is part of the Botswana Volleyball Federation’s long term athlete development programme to introduce volleyball at the grassroots level.
This year over 800 children and 265 officials from 100 primary schools in the country will take part in the festival. Established seven years ago, the aims of the festival are to help young athletes acquire the proper skills, discover new talent and increase mass participation in volleyball. During the festival talent scouts will select athletes for the Under-13 national team and the Centres of Sports Excellence.
LTS Enterprises are the main sponsors of the 2012 edition of the festival, providing around 35,000 Botswana Pula worth of shirts and other merchandise for all participants.
