Teachers course comes to an end in Maldives

The 32 school teachers participating in the course, chosen from 43 applicants, represented 18 different Maldivian islands and included 10 women
Malé, Maldives, November 21, 2012 – A five-day course for teachers came to an end in Maldives on Tuesday with a closing ceremony attended by National Sport Council member Mohamed Anees, VAM vice-president Ilyas Waheed and VAM Technical Department head Mohamed Sharaf. Anees is an FIVB Level III coach and a former coach of the national men’s volleyball team.

The 32 course participants presented a gift to instructor Zhao Shanwen, who had led them through theory classes at the Hiriyaa School and practical sessions at the adjoining Malé Youth Centre Indoor Hall.

Awards were handed out at the closing ceremony, including Best All-round Participant (Sheeza Waleed, Muraidhoo School/Muraidhoo, Best Participant, Theory (Madhih Ismail, Giyasudin International School/Malé) and Best Participant, Practicals (H.G.D Sujith, Kalaafaan School/Malé). These three teachers were also each given volleyballs.
